A Holiday Letter from Kelli Kelley

Have social media and Shutterfly displaced the traditional holiday letter? Now that we can update Aunt Martha about Little Johnny’s record setting soccer goals and Little Susie’s tremendous accomplishments in band, gymnastics and field hockey through daily Facebook posts, what is left to share in an old-fashioned holiday letter?

If you are anything like me, you struggle to remember what happened in October, much less recount a year’s worth of memorable moments worth sharing with 150 of your closest friends and relatives. I tend to opt now for the requisite family photo taken at Thanksgiving showcasing our coordinating outfits planned just for our holiday postcard. I am typically racing against the clock to upload the photo onto a coordinated background hastily picked from 1000s of options featuring everything from pastels to poinsettias.

But this year is different. Hand to Hold has experienced a tremendous year of growth worthy of reflection, celebration and yes, a little boasting. So grab a cup of coffee, kick off your boots and take a few minutes out of this hectic season to reflect on how your support has helped Hand to Hold touch the lives of tens of thousands of NICU Families across the country in 2017.

Read the rest of Kelli's holiday letter.

Make a Real Difference this Holiday Season

End the year on a high note by giving back to honor those babies who are still in the NICU, those who are home with us and those we have lost.

Your gift to Hand to Hold will be used to:

  • Connect families to vital online and in-hospital support
  • Help launch a new podcast series
  • Ensure families have information to navigate a NICU stay
  • And much more!

Learn more about how you can contribute to our year-end campaign at crowdrise.com/nicufamily.

Fourth Annual Baby Shower a Smashing Success!

We had a wonderful day at our Fourth Annual Baby Shower on October 20! We welcomed almost 500 attendees and raised $221,000 for NICU families. Thanks again to our event chairs, Brandon and Melissa Cason, our special guest speaker Kristin Schell, and country musician Randy Rogers for making this year's event a success.

Mark your calendars for November 2, when we will return to the beautiful JW Marriott for another fun afternoon of celebrating NICU families. For information about the 2018 event, contact Jennifer Hayhurst

Team Hand to Hold Needs You!

With a little over two months before the race, Team Hand to Hold is working hard to raise money and awareness for NICU families! Get your friends and family together to walk or run one of three races: the Paramount 5K (strollers welcome!), Austin Marathon or Austin Half Marathon, on February 18, 2018. Sign up here, then on the second page select Hand to Hold as your Austin Gives Miles charity. Your Crowdrise fundraising page will automatically be created for you.

Looking for other ways to get involved? We will have volunteer spots posted soon for our water stop along the route, or you can donate to Team Hand to Hold through our Crowdrise page. If you have any questions about registration, fundraising or Team Hand to Hold, contact Zoe Roush
